Artist Statement
I am A.W.Darcy a freelance visual artist based in Cheltenham in the UK. I have a BA(Hons) Fine Art Degree and a Masters of Arts in Illustration and have been absorbing, reflecting and creating for as long as I can remember. Travelling plays a huge part in my personal practice sparking imagination & inspiration. Travelling through different time. As humans we all are perpetually travelling in body mind and soul. Different places, people, architecture, cultures, books and landscapes. These experiences shape my work. Playing with perception through different time windows and experiencing the ephemeral moments are constant buds of thought. Printmaking, drawing & painting, in all its wonderful playful forms, allows me to explore this common journey around this intriguing world we live in. The way art connects people brings me joy. I am lucky enough to have pieces of my work dotted around the world from Vancouver & Toronto, Canada to California & New York in the USA to Athens, Denmark, Sweden, Scotland and beyond.
